About Stephen Roach

Stephen Roach has been a member of the Professional Golfers Association since April of 2001 and the Head Golf Professional at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course since 2009. Stephen is a teaching professional of the highest caliber. He has taught golf to people of all ages, including children as young as five years old.

Stephen is personally dedicated to the ideal that as a PGA Professional he personify “honor, service, fair dealings, personal integrity and fidelity” with regards to golf. Stephen respects his students. He is always on time and well prepared. He interviews the golfers he is teaching and then keeps the dialogue open. Stephen says his key to success is to “Keep it simple.” Posture, grip and alignment are the basics. With Stephen’s guidance, the many parts that go into those basics become instinctual for golfers.

Stephen received the PGA President’s Council on Growing the Game award in both 2006 and 2008. He was the Head Golf Professional at Lansbrook Golf Club in Palm Harbor, FL; an assistant golf professional at Brooklawn Country Club, Fairfield, CT and Patterson Country Club, Fairfield, CT where he was a also a Tournament Administrator.

Stephen has shared his love of golf over the years by volunteering his time and expertise to teach children in community programs. He worked with The Cardinal Sheehan Center and McGivney Community Center’s Golf Buddy Program.
